What to See on a Mozambique Holiday

We can only imagine how excited you are now that you’ve booked your Mozambique holiday you’re going to have an absolutely amazing time.
But what to see and do while you are in the region?

Here’s our guide to some of the best sights and sounds that Mozambique has to offer.

  1. Gorongosa National Park

Gorongosa is one of the most beautiful national parks to be found around the world and you must pay it a visit if you come to this part of the world. There are lions, elephants, crocodiles, hippopotamuses.  You are certainly not spoiled for choice when it comes to local wildlife. Make sure you make your way to Lake Urema in the Great Rift Valley for a truly spectacular view you won’t find anywhere else.

  1. Cahora Bassa Lake

For something a little different, head off to Cahora Bassa Lake, the second biggest manmade lake on the continent. Cahora Bassa is actually the biggest hydroelectric dam to be found in South Africa and the lake itself is one of the best places you can go for a spot of fishing. Here, you’ll find catfish, bream, chessa and Cornish Jack, so if you’re heading to Mozambique to try and catch a few this should be your first port of call.

  1. Ponta do Ouro

And if you’re keen to spend as much time as possible out of doors, then you need to wend your way to Ponta do Ouro, a town in the south of the region that is famous for its beautiful beaches, dolphins, surfing and offshore diving. Let us know what you think!
