The Stiltz

The Stiltz seems separate from the rest of the world, a haven in the dunes close to a thriving harbour town. Built on stilts above the dry river, 9 wooden chalets and 2 villas with thatched roofs are linked with lovely wooden boardwalks – magical and idiosyncratic rooms where guests are lulled to sleep at night by the purr of the sea and the chirping of pink flamingos flying past.

A beautiful location on the edge of Swakopmund, the Stiltz has spectacular views over the mouth of the Swakop River as well as the dunes of the Namib and the Atlantic Ocean – a unique accommodation venue on Namibia’s Skeleton Coast.

Built on stilts above the dry river, nine wooden chalets and two villas with thatched roofs are linked with lovely wooden boardwalks – magical and idiosyncratic rooms where guests are lulled to sleep at night by the purr of the sea and the chirping of pink flamingos flying past.
Chalets are designed with bright colours and tasteful decorations with plenty of space to invite relaxation and pleasure. Wooden beds and furniture created sometimes from the driftwood nearby add value to the units – even the bathrooms feature rosewood finishes. Private balconies, colourful curtains and cushions add vibrancy to these accommodation units, some of which face the sea towards Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast.
The villas sleep six people and one family unit sleeps four people while all other chalets sleep two people each – additional features include large showers, mini bars, coffee and tea stations, fans and heaters – and tranquillity, of course!
Stroll the boardwalk to the polygonal structure of wood and glass – the breakfast room – to eat delicious morning food. Then walk into Swakopmund to explore the harbour area and the rich German history of this Namibian town. Water and adventure sports abound as well as boat cruises and trails.
