Mpala Jena

Mpala Jena luxury safari camp is perfectly positioned along the banks of the mighty Zambezi River above the Falls where wildlife and adventure await. 

This is the Zambezi National Park which was once joined to the Victoria Falls National Park and, in those days, (1979) game rangers caught sight of a white impala so that is what Mpala Jena means – referring to an albino impala.  

This is an intimate camp, like a shy white impala, peeping out from old indigenous trees and thatched roofs, so take off your shoes and wander the sandy pathways from your chic tent to the swimming pool deck for a cooling swim. 

At Mpala Jena, you will explore the vast 56 000 ha of conservation land in the Zambezi National Park and the best time to come is from June until October. See the large herds of elephants, buffalo, and antelope heading here for the watery wonderland where also crocs and hippos lurk. 

This luxury Victoria Falls camp is also eco-friendly and committed to minimal lasting impacts on the river and in the game reserve in any way – it is solar-powered and built on wooden platforms with only canvas tents and main areas. Highly trained staff at Mpala Jena Camp offer expert game drives, safari walks and morning or afternoon boat cruises.
