The concept for Sun City’s Palace of the Lost City is based on an ancient African myth about a roaming tribe from North Africa that settled in the Valley of the Sun. They founded a charmed city and erected a lavish fortress for their adored king but years later a massive earthquake destroyed the city and the royal family was saved by a herd of kudus. When the royals all died, the palace and ruins of the city gradually disappeared under the dense jungle.
