The Jabulani Game Lodge Elephant Experience affords Jabulani guests the opportunity to meet and spend time with the herd in Kapama Private Game Reserve in Limpopo Province. Meet the elephant carers who have spent the past 20 years bonding with the elephants and keeping them safe.
It all started in 1997 when the first elephant calf was rescued, rehabilitated and returned to the wild herd. Then a herd of orphaned elephants was rescued in Zimbabwe in 2002, and so it continued until the formation of the HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) today.
Following in gigantic footsteps a senior trails guide, senior elephant keeper and ranger will take guests on an adventure to track the elephants within the Big Five Kapama Private Game Reserve. Spend the afternoon watching and hearing their individual stories once the herd at Jabulani Camp has been located. At sunset, guests meet up with the herd as they enjoy their last drink at the dam and follow them back to the elephant camps to bid them goodnight – an unforgettable and inspiring experience.
