Kagga Kamma Private Reserve offers remote wilderness and solitude in its very own unique way. Set deep in the heart of the Cederberg Mountain sits a quiet piece of paradise with spectacular scenery and silence. Previously the domain of the nomadic San people it has some fascinating history and natural wonders to be discovered. Their rock art dates back to 6000 years.
Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve also has a number of excursions on offer. You can go and explore the rock art of the San people with an informative guide. Or take a quad bike tour, hike the numerous mountain trails or enjoy world-class star gazing from the observatory. There is also a great spa with some amazing treatment options and you can take a late afternoon nature drive with their vehicles and guides.
There is a variety of bespoke accommodation on offer that includes the Cave Suites and the Sky Suite open-air rooms. In total there are 15 four-star guest rooms at Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve. The restaurant serves traditional South African food and has a comprehensive wine list of locally sourced Cape wines.

Kagga Kamma Outcrop Open Air Room:

Perfect for honeymooners and nature lovers alike! This is one of Kagga Kamma’s most unique features; a night under the starlit skies with all the comforts of a suite with a double bed and a glowing fire. Situated on a remote rocky outcrop far away from the Lodge, this idyllic space is home to the first luxury sleep out facility of its kind.
Caves Suites at Kagga Kamma:
This is the standard offer accommodation and these rooms are integrated within the sandstone formations and are truly unique. Well-appointed and furnished with each cave suite having its own private terrace to watch the sun go down in style
Thatched Rondavels at Kagga Kamma:
The traditionally designed rondavels are thatched and super comfy. A very traditional African homestead for you to enjoy the Cederberg from.
About Kagga Kamma Reserve
Located near Ceres and set amongst a dramatic landscape of rock formations that the Cederberg is famous for. The area is malaria-free and guided game drives and all meals are included. Kagga Kamma offers the perfect position from which to explore the Cederberg and all that the region it has to offer. It’s a perfect add on to a Cape Town holiday and the nearby Cape Winelands are very accessible from Kagga Kamma.
There’s a large variety of game to see in Kagga Kamma on your day and night drives. Burchell’s Zebra are common and you will also see a number of antelope species like Gemsbok, Bontebok, Springbok, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Klipspringer and Grey Rhebok. On night drives if you are lucky you could see Aardwolf, Leopard, Caracal and Black-backed jackal. Birding is good with some great desert species like Namaqua Sand Grouse and Khori Bustard.
