Kaingu Safari Lodge

On the banks of the Kafue River lies the incredible Kaingu Safari Lodge.

Spoil yourself with a romantic, off-the-beaten-track safari in a vast unspoiled Zambian wilderness at the incredible Kaingu Safari Lodge in the astonishing beauty of Kafue National Park. Voyage2Africa offers best-selling Zambian holidays to this national park in season and we recommend the eco-friendly setting and service of Kaingu Safari Lodge for ultimate guest satisfaction.

Start your day with a delectable breakfast on the banks of the meandering Kafue River before heading out to explore this top Zambian conservation region on foot, by boat or by 4×4 game drive vehicle. You don’t need to venture far to view wildlife as fauna roams into the Kaingu Safari Lodge area – look out for leopards in the dusk hours, known to appear here regularly.

The Kafue River forms the natural boundary of the Kafue National Park where Kaingu has made its home – one of the best ways to view wildlife is by silent canoe, paddling along the river banks to surprise birds, crocs, hippos and antelope in the lush thickets. Make time to visit a school while you are here, to see sustainable ecotourism benefits and the cultural value within this Game Management Area.

Managed by the owners, Kaingu Safari Lodge is an eco-friendly and family-friendly safari destination, adding childminders and kids’ activities to your package rate when you book. Enjoy the Finfoot Family House with its two ensuite bedrooms and spend your time in the great outdoors together. Roads to the camp have been upgraded, making life easier for guests to return every year to Kaingu. The other 6 tented chalets are raised on rosewood decks with outside showers and stunning views.

One of the best experiences at Kaingu for families or groups of 6 keen naturalists is the sleepout experience in a Tonga tree-basket, created from local Muchinga in a beehive shape. These tiny homes in the trees allow real immersion in the wilds of the park! The Tonga people built such structures for grain storage and chicken houses for centuries and they can sustain all weather and insects too. There are also three private campsites below the rapids for 6 guests who arrive in their own vehicles and do their own catering but who may request meals and game-viewing activities from the camp.

Set off by boat every morning up the river to the landing jetty to jump into a game drive vehicle and explore the astonishing Kafue National Park. Return every evening to a luxury tent with comfy beds, hot showers, and little touches like fresh water and clean linen.

Meet fellow safari enthusiasts in the central Kaingu Safari Lodge thatched central boma with its warm lounge, bar and dining area. Here you can sit back and unwind with friendly staff who are eager to tend to your needs.

We recommend Kaingu Safari Lodge on a magnificent and secluded stretch of the Kafue River, approximately 400 km north of the majestic Victoria Falls. It takes a 10-minute boat ride to get to the Kafue National Park jetty and start a game drive of a lifetime. With all its myriad of channels, rapids and islands, Kafue River lends itself to different kinds of water-based activities which include canoeing, fishing, river trails and boat cruises.

One of the main Kaingu features is its eco-friendly approach to blend into the natural environment using trees, rocks, the river bends and the natural geographical features of the reserve. This means that there is little impact on the wilderness with solar energy and guests learn as much as possible about biodiversity. Check out our package deals to Kafue today!
