Kulala Desert Lodge gets its name from the local Oshiwambo word meaning ‘to sleep’ yet it seems awake as the only lodge with direct views over this natural desert phenomenon – huge red dunes carved by the wind into smooth, moving shapes, the sun causing shadows on one side all through the day.
