Tucked away in a remote bay on the western shores of Mfangano Island, canopied by massive fig trees, away from the hustle and bustle of fish markets and civilization, this island retreat is the answer for those looking for a tranquil island holiday in a picturesque setting.

Accessible by air and boat, this aesthetic lodge is an idyllic stopover after a hot and dusty Kenya safari as it is conveniently positioned a mere 40 minute charter flight away from the Maasai Mara. And for those on a quest for a romantic hidey-hole, your search ends here. With just one road on the island and virtually no vehicles, the only sounds you will hear are those of nature.

Surrounded by manicured gardens, the 6 chalets are built in the traditional rondavel style with clay walls and banana thatched roofs, echoing the houses of the Luo tribe. The interiors are individually festooned and kitted with 4-poster beds and colourful ethnic fabrics. All the rooms are en-suite, with shower and bath and hot and cold running water. Private verandas come complete with daybeds for relaxing in while taking in the vistas and soaking up the sun.
