The new and authentic Muzimu Tented Camp perches on the Mussicadzi River in Gorongosa National Park, one of Africa’s last great wilderness areas in diverse Mozambique. Muzimu means “Guardian Spirit”, an apt name for this new tented camp that forms part of the visionary conservation and restoration project set up with huge passion by Greg Carr.

This new intimate tented camp boasts only 6 East African-styled tents raised on private wooden decks with ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and stylish safari furnishings. All canvas chalets feature king-size extra-length or twin beds, mosquito screens, tea-/coffee-making facilities, ceiling fans, and international outlets.
Enjoy a cold drink at the bar or sink into the soft sofas with a hot coffee in the communal main tent and watch the animals come to drink. Cool off in the refreshing plunge pool overlooking the Mussicadzi River, a drinking spot popular with elephants, hippos and other charismatic species.
