Vilanculos Beach Lodge is a small exclusive and private beach lodge featuring 22 luxury double bungalows and one family suite sleeping a total of 48 guests at capacity. Each bungalow has it’s own private balcony and is constructed on ironwood stilts maximizing the stunning views of the balmy Mozambique ocean. Traditional majeka thatched roofs and beautiful solid mahogany floors add a traditional Mozambique authenticity, but the bungalows inside feature a stylish blend of raw concrete, hardwood and modern furniture. There is an open plan ensuite bathroom with a shower, and as you would imagine the color scheme is white, pebble, beige with splashes of blue to offset the crisp white linen and romantic soft billowing mosquito nets. The bungalows are air conditioned to keep you cool throughout your stay although for the most part you will be out and about experiencing the huge array of activities and facilities on offer.
The beautifully constructed restaurant and bar offer traditional Mozambican and Mediterranean cuisine. From the comfort of the lodge, you will be able to explore the exotic surroundings as well as have a perfect base to explore the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago.
The area is a snorkeler and diver’s paradise featuring breathtakingly unspoilt reefs. In crystal clear waters, watch the vast array of jewel-like fish and the extraordinary-shaped corals. The Moçambique channel also offers anglers the experience and exhilaration of fighting marlin and other game fish on guided fishing charters.

Vilanculos Beach Lodge boasts 21 deluxe bungalows in total with 7 stand-alone and 14 that are adjoining bungalows. The lodge is constructed from natural indigenous elements of thatch and local hardwood poles which have been combined in perfect harmony with plaster walls and wood frame doors and windows. The result is the relaxed yet stylish finish. The property extends right on to the glorious beach and the public buildings are set back about 100m up the ridge, overlooking the ocean.

Everyone’s favourite place has got to be the lodge’s enormous infinity pool with an uninterrupted view of the turquoise ocean and the Bazaruto islands. Scattered paved areas amongst the trees offer quiet shaded areas for drinks and contemplation.
