Lodges in Damaraland

Palmwag Lodge in Damaraland is an oasis in the Namib Desert of Namibia, set under palm trees on the Uniab River. Spend a night at one of the region’s oldest Damaraland lodges before moving off to explore the nearby Etosha National Park, Etendeka Mountains and Skeleton Coast National Park, to name but a few.

Palmwag Lodge Namibia is the gateway to the 5 000 square km Palmwag Concession which is home to 70% of Damaraland’s amazing black rhino population. A top-class wilderness area, this private reserve also hosts desert elephants, Hartmann’s mountain zebra, giraffe, gemsbok, springbok, kudu and predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard, brown and spotted hyena. Visitors to Palmwag will be super impressed that there are more predators here than in the Etosha National Park, with more than 100 lions! The Palmwag Concession supports a healthy population of desert black rhinos and elephants, under the management of the Save the Rhino Trust.
