Puku Ridge Camp in Zambia's South Luangwa

The reinvented, reimagined, refurbished and redesigned Puku Ridge Lodge offers breath-taking accommodation and some of the best game viewing in the entire South Luangwa National Park.

Find incredible style and luxury in a lodge created entirely from wood, stone, thatch and other natural materials, the expansive deck the central meeting area for guests who want to get away from it all in an elegant bush camp. Puku Ridge Camp is refined on a private watering hole, where a secret photographic hide is beautifully positioned and made for first class immersion in wildlife and wilderness second to none.

It’s time you discovered this revamped safari lodge in a place where the tiny puku do feed, tall giraffe too and plenty of elephants – it’s a combined effort between the owners of Chiawa Camp and Old Mondoro and Chichele Safaris and it is now a premier game viewing destination in the heart of the South Luangwa National Park.

Many people say that walking safaris in Africa first began in the diverse Luangwa Valley, the conservation region that comprises both North and South Luangwa National Parks.

The 8 opulent safari tents are made for complete relaxation in wild nature, set on a ride, looking down on the expansive plains and woodlands where diverse wildlife exists. Each tented chalet boasts indoor showers and bath tubs with a view and the soft double beds have extensive outlooks over the vistas while each private deck features dazzling plunge pools.

Puku Ridge Camp Zambia is committed to conservation of all life in the valley, just like its sister camps, Chiawa and Old Mondoro in the Lower Zambezi National Park. In South Luangwa, the solitary leopard is found often by dedicated rangers and trackers who understand their movements. The large herds of elephants are mind blowing and packs of African wild dog hunt nearby too.

Overview

Some of the best bush walking safaris in Africa at Puku Ridge Camp. A luxury lodge in the midst of the splendid South Luangwa National Park that does its best to be part of the wilderness and to celebrate all wildlife and ecosystems that make up this amazing conservation area. The Puku antelope is a tiny creature that usually lives near water and this exquisite safari camp has been thoughtfully erected on a rise overlooking the abundant plains of the Kakumbi valley.

All the tented suites are connected with neat wooden boardwalks, well lit at night, and the main area is transformed into a glowing welcoming arena for homecoming guests off their exciting night drives. Gather in the boma and talk about what you have seen – leopards, lions, elephants, buffalo, plenty of antelope, hippo, zebra and giraffe!

The owners of Puku Ridge have completely revamped the lodge into a five-star escape for guests who want to learn more about wildlife and wildlife conservation, but still appreciate luxury living.
