Singita Boulders Lodge

Singita Boulders Lodge Sabi Sand Reserve Kruger

Discover Singita Boulders Lodge, well known for its leopard sightings, on the banks of the Sand River in Sabi Sands Nature Reserve. Your five-star safari starts here in gorgeous chalets built into the rocky hillside to blend in with the natural environment.

This premium safari accommodation on the edge of the Kruger National Park takes its name from the huge boulders scattered along the river banks – the architectural design has ingeniously incorporated these icons of nature into the magic of the chic eco interiors.

Committed to wildlife conservation, ecotourism and anti-poaching programmes, this family of lodges leads the way in the safari business. Tourists benefit in more ways than one: exquisite accommodation and amenities, jaw-dropping wildlife sightings, awe-inspiring outdoor and wellness activities, plus getting an eye into the goings of the conservation movements in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Kruger National Park.

View the Big Five and a plethora of other wildlife and birds moving between the Kruger and Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Splendid 4×4 game viewing drives and inspiring nature walks through this 18 000-ha wilderness. An oasis in the bush, a top safari lodge on Kruger’s border, where fossilised tree stumps are part of rustic furnishings and the bold elements of nature are evident in the amazing slabs of solid stone, wrought iron finishes and leather touches.

Singita Boulders Lodge is so natural that the birds want to come in – and the trees and the aromas of the wilderness! This is thanks to its cleverly designed glass walls and open-air spaces. Everything is created around the natural environment, blending in, inviting in, and ensuring that nothing is impacted too heavily by the humans who come there to observe and enjoy.

Eco-conscious Designer Safari Accommodation at Singita Boulders

This design is part of the owners’ commitment to the emerging of ecotourism and conservation principles in a bid to preserve and protect Africa’s wilderness. Ever since the first Singita lodge was opened in 1993, the owners have been leaders in eco-conscious hospitality and building a good relationship with local communities who can then benefit from tourism and nature conservation too.

Welcome to 12 contemporary suites promising a warm natural effect in the use of straw items, neutral natural shades, and raw wood, metal and stone designs. Lavish bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, private sitting rooms, double-sided fireplaces, mini bars, air-conditioning, overhead fans, and game viewing decks with private plunge pools overlook the magical wilderness. Softness comes in the sheepskin rugs and quality linen additions to the beds and sofas.

Special guests will never be bored at Singita Boulders as the Lodge brings exercise and wellness to them – a chic spa, modern gym, swimming pool, gallery and wine shop. Guests can enjoy 360-degree views from most parts of the natural stone lodge, and the vast sun deck offers the perfect spot from which to observe wildlife drawn to the Sand River. The quiet pond beside the thatched lounge area brings in light and birdsong and amazing bush aromas too.

Everything in the design and décor at Boulders Lodge has a contemporary air of tranquillity that honours Africa in an authentic way. Inspiring the name Boulders was an enormous boulder that sat right in the middle of the place where the wine cellar was to be built. A simple decision was made to build the cellar around the boulder!

This eco lodge with the lavish detail is also child and family friendly. Select a tailor-made family safari where children benefit from learning so much in the biggest classroom in the universe, nature. Families bond and share special moments of natural wonder and enlightenment and they want to take action for the planet when they leave. Game rangers introduce the entire family to the sensory delights of the safari drive and nature walks in the Singita Sabi Sand wilderness.

Singitia is also committed to the preservation of wildlife, and this means controlling the scourge of poaching that has hit South Africa. Privileged guests can visit the anti -poaching canine unit for a session of interaction and hearing the stories of their work in the reserve. Children will love the part where they get to go on a tracking exercise with the dogs and their handlers!
