Three Trees Hill Lodge in Bergville, near Spioenkop is a family-owned and run establishment set in the Battlefields of KwaZulu Natal against the spectacular backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa. This upmarket and homely accommodation is the ideal location for a midlands holiday for those who wish to explore the major Anglo-Boer War Battlefields of Spioenkop and Colenso, the Northern Drakensberg Mountains (World Heritage Site) and the Anglo-Zulu War Battlefields (Isandlwana and Rorke’s) which are a mere 2hrs away.
An eco-friendly lodge set on the former site of a British military headquarters, Three Trees has been constructed mainly from wood and iron to resemble the settler housing kits that were brought out from Britain in the 19th century. Refined accommodation at this Battlefields lodge is in 6 elegant twin rooms, a self-contained 2 bedroom cottage and 1 family suite, all with private viewing decks.
To add to this, the country hotel also features a swimming pool, a main dining area, and a roomy lounge area with a wide veranda including a game viewing deck.
