Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
4 NIGHTS, BED AND BREAKFAST
Land at Johannesburg international airport, OR Tambo, meet your charter flight representative at a predesignated point then board your flight for the short 90 minutes flight directly to the lodge. Meet your friendly game ranger and join fellow guests for afternoon tea and a sunset game drive. A delightful dinner awaits your return. Enjoy a colonial enclave in the African wilderness, a place where antiques, silver cutlery and crystal glassware reflect a bygone era.
Days 2 – 4
A full day on safari. Morning and afternoon activities include two game drives, guided bush walks and birding safaris. Ngala means lion in Shangaan, the local language, and the reserve supports several large prides of these powerful cats. Children love the roomy family suite, its private swimming pool, private game drives and space to play – a complete sensory overload! Look out for elephants, rhinos, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs and African Wild Dog.
Day 5
5 NIGHTS ON A FULL BOARD BASIS
A delightful traditional breakfast precedes final farewells in Timbavati – then board your charter flip to Kruger International Airport, followed by your scheduled international flight to Vilanculos. Meet your helicopter pilot from Benguerra Island Lodge who will buzz you on a scenic flight over the tranquil azure Indian Ocean and Bazaruto Islands to Benguerra, your home for the next 5 nights. Your stylish villa in the Bazaruto Archipelago is an upmarket rustic cabana under swaying palm trees right on one of the best beaches in Mozambique.
Days 6 – 9
Awaken to a magical sunrise on your first full day on the island. There is so much to choose from to do! Sleep, eat, walk, swim, snorkel, fish, horse ride, island drive, dhow cruise and indulge in a castaway picnic. Thrilling scuba diving trips, deep-sea fishing adventures and local village tours can be pre-booked. Enjoy the lodge with its woven hammocks, shaded gazebo, stylish dining room and open lounge, boasting wide, sunny decks.
Day 10
After breakfast and final farewells, board the helicopter for another scenic flight as you head back to Vilanculos. Here, you’ll board your scheduled flight to Johannesburg for your onward travel journey. We hope that you had time to see the rare dugongs, humpback whales and prehistoric loggerhead turtles. Maybe you even saw whale sharks and manta rays?
