Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
2 NIGHTS, HALF BOARD BASIS
Land in Nairobi, meet your guide and leave on safari through Kenya for a start at the thriving Amboseli National Park and its postcard-perfect views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest stand-alone mountain. Your Amboseli Serena hotel room awaits, with quality Masai-inspired décor, luxury mod cons and stunning views of the garden and wild open plains beyond. Dine on the deck and set off on your first evening game drive!
Day 2
Awaken to the birds in the acacia grove and the sound of water trickling from the mountain spring. A dawn game drive into Amboseli National Park sets the pace where you seek out the plains game and their attendant predators, prides of lions, cheetahs and maybe a shy leopard or two. Huge herds of buffalo, elephants and antelope fill your lens.
Day 3
2 NIGHT STAY LAKE NAKURU FULL BOARD BASIS
Enjoy a fresh Amboseli breakfast and drive via Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park, exploring the stupendous sights of the Great Rift Valley along the way, the gorgeous Mount Longonot in the distance and Lake Naivasha glimmering blue with its flower farms and 400 bird species. Arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge for lunch then take a game drive around Lake Nakuru, gasping at the mind-blowing sight of millions of flamingos wading in the shallows. Check out the primaeval endangered black rhino in the park’s rhino sanctuary.
Day 4
After breakfast at Sarova Lion Hill lodge, spend the day in awe of Lake Nakuru and its compelling landscapes, flamingos and endangered wildlife. Get the best view of these pink birds in their millions from Baboon Cliff and find the fenced-off area for giraffes and black and white rhinos at Nakuru. Look out for numerous big cat predators and extra-long and thick pythons!
Day 5
2 NIGHT STAY, FULL BOARD BASIS
Enjoy your last breakfast at Lake Nakuru and head for the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve and Sarova Mara Camp. Game drive through the magnificence of the Great Rift Valley to where Kenya meets Tanzania, where the Masai Mara meets the Serengeti, the place of the annual Great Migration. Find charismatic black-maned lions wandering the open savannas, huge herds of antelope, tall giraffes, elephants and cheetahs.
Day 6
Awaken to the best sunrise in Africa, enjoy an early breakfast and set off into the Masai reserve to find some of the best wildlife concentrations in Africa. Maasai Mara is named in honour of the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area, who migrated to the area from the Nile Basin. Experience one of the most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas in Africa, world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephants and zebra! Visit the Maasai in their villages and see how their way of life has barely changed.
Day 7
It’s time to bid adieu sadly – your last breakfast in Masai Mara and then drive to Nairobi. Take only your photographs, memories and curios with you and the unforgettable memories you have experienced on your Kenya safari Your driver drops you at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your onward flight.
