Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
1 NIGHT, FULL BOARD BASIS
Meet your guide at the airport and drive north through the rich agricultural and hilly mosaic of small farms, coffee plantations and pineapple to Aberdare National Park. Kenya’s Rift Valley features the greatest diversity of species in the natural world, so come and see the magnificent lakes, regal mountains and sprawling savannas., the black rhinos, elephants, colobus monkeys and plenty of antelope species. Enjoy a fabulous lunch at the Aberdare Country Club then head to your accommodation at the Ark, carefully created like Noah’s Ark on a waterhole and salt lick with vast viewing decks, lounges, decks and a ground-level hide to watch animals on their level.
Day 2
1 NIGHT, FULL BOARD BASIS
Enjoy a great breakfast and head out to Lake Nakuru for lunch, road-tripping through the Great Rift Valley, past Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake for people who love birds, forests and game viewing. Be amazed at the beautiful Lake Nakuru in the Rift Valley, the most important foraging site for millions of the Lesser flamingo and pelicans. Mbweha Safari Camp offers 10 charming cottages with private verandas and guests meet in the open-plan lounge and dining areas. It’s an eco-friendly camp dedicated to responsible tourism and ecotourism initiatives.
Day 3
2 NIGHT STAY, FULL BOARD BASIS
Another unforgettable bush breakfast before a scenic drive to the famous Masai Mara. Sightsee through the Great Rift Valley then north towards the scintillating Serengeti Plains of nearby Tanzania, finally entering the magical Mara for your dream safari of a lifetime. Stay in the gorgeous Tipilikwani Mara Safari Camp on the edges of the river Talek in a riverfront chalet with front row seats of the magnificent grassland outlooks. Superb game drives, bush walks, birding and photographic drives, picnics in the great wilderness as elephants and giraffe stroll past, black-maned lions in wait.
Day 4
Enjoy an early morning breakfast and a full morning’s game-viewing drive to return for lunch. You will love this camp for its excellent food and wines, its al fresco settings for eating in nature and the main evening meal a big candlelit event taken at an elegant dining table or under the stars with fellow guests. Traditional game drives to get to know the fauna and flora intimately and the tall Masai people who graze their cattle in the reserve and know more about biodiversity than any scientist. Interpretive bush walks are a highlight at Tipilikwani. A hot air balloon safari at dawn is magical too, followed by a champagne breakfast in the wilds of Kenya!
Day 5
The final breakfast in camp can be sad but your final game drive to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport will relieve this and you have made friends for life. Return again someday to this East African paradise!
