Day to Day Itinerary
Days 1 – 2
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
Land at Maun International Airport and take a light aeroplane to Shinde Camp Okavango Delta. Soon you will be immersed in your recently refurbished classic safari tent on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta. You are on the edge of Shinde Lagoon, teeming with animal and birdlife. Look forward to life-changing game drives, boat trips, mokoro rides, walking safaris, birding and fishing outings and plenty of time to chill and listen to the tranquillity around you at Shinde Camp.
Days 3 – 4
A fresh breakfast at Shinde Lodge then the journey to Okuti where the fun begins – take a light aircraft to Xakanaxa airstrip then enjoy your first game drive to unusual, tented accommodation in the heart of Moremi. Enjoy architectural innovation that sets Okuti Safari Camp Moremi apart in 7 large beehive-like structures featuring reed-lined walls, plenty of sunshine, lounges, stone bathtubs and astounding wilderness views from private decks. Game drives, bush walks and motorboat cruises fill your days at Okuti.
Days 5 – 6
A busy morning of travel awaits. After a hearty breakfast, fly to Kasane International Airport in the north of Botswana to drive to Zimbabwe via the Kazungula border crossing. Arrive in Victoria Falls an hour later and enter the legendary Victoria Falls River Lodge. The first-ever game lodge to be built within the boundaries of the majestic Zambezi National Park. Spend happy days enjoying at River Lodge with its extensive, sunny open-plan dining, lounge and bar areas between outdoor activities – plus the welcoming fitness center and the pampering Toa Spa.
Days 7 – 8
After breakfast, a 3-hour drive south to Hwange where your guide from The Hide Hwange transfers you to the camp. A delightful afternoon tea and a sundowner game drive. Of particular interest is “The Hide” from which the camp gets its name – close-up wildlife viewing from a specially built hide on the level of the animals – excellent photography opportunities and time to just think and be in the animal’s realm. Voted the “Best Tented Safari Camp” in the country 13 times, The Hide Safari Camp promises excellent game viewing and standards of service.
Days 9 – 10
A busy day awaits as you make your way to Hwange Airfield. A 2-hour shared charter flight takes you over the magnificent man-made Kariba Lake for some great aerial views. Arrive in Mana Pools, and transfer to Zambezi Expeditions camp. Enjoy unpretentious luxury in 5 mobile tents, complete with classic safari-style furniture and open-air bucket showers to boot. Spend your days immersed in nature game driving, walking, fishing and canoeing before returning to alfresco dining on the banks of the famous Zambezi River.
Day 11
After your Mana Pools morning activity and a cooked breakfast, catch your shared charter flight back to Victoria Falls in time for your international flight. It’s been a whirlwind Botswana and Zimbabwe holiday with many amazing memories made.
