Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1
1 NIGHT, FULL BOARD BASIS
Arrive in Nairobi, meet your tour rep and get to Hemingways Hotel for a delectable dinner. Made for modern business and leisure travellers, Hemingways is a tribute to the writer and hunter himself, Ernest Hemingway. This chic boutique hotel has a Hollywood design to it as if you are entering a film set and about to star in a 1930s movie! Kick back and relax on your private terrace with its full views of the Ngong Hills or head down to the high-class restaurant with its nouvelle cuisine and the Brasserie for a cold beer.
Day 2
2 NIGHT STAY, FULL BOARD BASIS
Dine in style for breakfast and await your private transfer to Wilson Airport to fly to Amboseli National Park. Families are welcome at Tortillas Camp with its thatched main guest areas so typical of traditional safaris under the shady resident acacia trees. Swim all day in the shade of the palms in a refreshing swimming pool and tuck into nutritious bush breakfasts while out on game drives. Dine at your own table in the evening as you watch Kilimanjaro change colour into the night. Amboseli boasts more than 1000 elephants, robust predator populations and myriad birds, including flamingos in vast pink flocks.
Day 3
Spend the entire day out on game drives, bush walks and birding outings. Appreciate attentive spa treatments, and massages, and visit local Masai homesteads where the Masai live in semi-permanent huts known as Manyattas. Tortillas Camp is intimate and “glamping” style tents have amazing hot showers and patios where dawn coffees and cookies delivered to your tent precede incredible game drives. See more birds than you can count, hippos, lions and their cubs, herds of elephants, hyenas, jackals, zebra, giraffes, warthogs, wildebeests, and numerous types of antelope.
Day 4
3 NIGHT STAY, FULL BOARD BASIS
Breakfast on the deck then a game drive to Amboseli airstrip to fly to Loisaba Conservancy and the gorgeous Loisaba Tented Camp. For sheer opulence on safari and infinite breath-taking views from an elevated position over the Laikipia Central Highlands towards Mount Kenya, your tented is in the vital elephant corridor of the 57 000 acre Loisaba Conservancy. Days 5 – 6
Start your day with an unforgettable wilderness walk with traditional and passionate Samburu guides who have intricate knowledge about biodiversity. Return to camp for a welcoming fresh breakfast then swim in the pool, read a book, sip a cold beer on the deck or simply game view some more. Another game drive and a visit to the Lewa Conservancy anti-poaching dog unit is a highlight. Dinner under the stars and sleep later in your plush suite with its solar-powered shower and vast private deck with magnificent views.
Day 7
3 NIGHT STAY, FULL BOARD BASIS
Start the day with a fresh breakfast then game drive to Loisaba airstrip for the private charter to the Masai Mara’s Sand River Camp. Sand River Camp is named after the picturesque Sand River on which it is built within the scintillating ecosystems of the Masai Mara. Everything about this luxury camp reflects those glorious safari days of the 1930s when decadence in nature was the theme – antiques, mirrors, leather, quality linens, velvet chairs and ornate light fittings. Days 8 – 9
A fresh breakfast on the deck, then a divine game drive for the entire day with a packed picnic lunch.
