Days 1 – 3
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
Welcome to Malawi! Arrive at Chileka International Airport, meet and greet with transfers to Huntingdon House to enjoy 2 nights at this glamorous colonial house surrounded by unparalleled beauty at the Satemwa Tea and Coffee Estate. Huntingdon House is the epitome of old colonialism in Malawi, from the beautiful backdrop of the tea estates to the manicured lawn with a croquet set up. Explore the coffee and tea plantations, the bamboo nursery and more.
Days 3 – 5
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
We will take you to Majete Wildlife Reserve to witness an incredible conservation success story and Malawi’s only Big Five Park with thriving animal populations and plentiful birdlife. Stay at Thawale Tented Camp, excellent accommodation in six tented chalets with magnificent waterhole views. Guests to Majete and Thawale meet in the central dining and restaurant lapa and enjoy an amazing birding platform or game viewing from the secret hide.
Days 5 – 7
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
From wildlife at Majete to the waterfalls and trout fishing on the captivating Zomba Plateau! Your few days at Zomba Forest Lodge, at the foot of Zomba Plateau, is a welcoming holiday in a quaint and homely guest house with gorgeous gardens and views over the plateau. Mouth-watering food and friendly hosts in Zomba. Explore the waterfalls or enjoy a less strenuous but beautiful hike through the forests. Hike to the top of the plateau, crisscrossed by streams and dotted with waterfalls and still lakes.
Days 7 – 9
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
Drive to Liwonde National Park’s Mvuu Camp situated along the Shire River within the park wilderness. A beautiful stone and canvas camp also offers large family tents and the delightful, thatched dining and lounge area looks over the river where two huge old baobab trees stand proud. Explore Liwonde Park on land and on water, from its thriving populations of black rhinos and cheetahs to the endless bird species – the most breath-taking place to experience Malawi’s flourishing wildlife.
Days 9 – 11
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
Lake Malawi awaits, a dazzling destination in which to cool off! Transfer to Senga Bay for your boat ride to Blue Zebra Island Lodge where luxury chalets huddle in perfect pristine surroundings, embracing all visitors in heavenly nature. Chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the full board package. The subtle eco-friendly lodge offers snorkelling equipment to view the unique colourful fish that give the lodge its name.
Days 11 – 12
1 NIGHT, BED AND BREAKFAST BASIS
Latitude 13 is a stylish boutique hotel in the centre of Lilongwe, set in a lush green garden with a huge swimming pool. There is a beautiful spa and the whole hotel is filled with modern art made from recyclable materials such as washed-up glass and driftwood made by a women’s charity on the island of Likoma. This is Lilongwe’s most upmarket hotel and the restaurant is very popular with the city’s movers and shakers so we recommend popping in for a cocktail or two and dinner whilst here.
Days 12 – 15
3 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
Cross the border into Zambia to South Luangwa National Park. Catch a transfer to Kafunta River Lodge, a classic Zambian Safari Lodge. Find the only hot tub in the Luangwa Valley beside the bar and infinity swimming pool, warm and inviting thanks to its natural geothermal source. Only 8 thatched safari chalets boast vast bathrooms, minibars, tea and coffee, and private decks looking out to the Luangwa River beyond.
Days 15 – 17
2 NIGHTS, FULL BOARD BASIS
The delightful Three Rivers Camp is part of the Kafunta Safari Lodge group and is the first camp to be set up between the community and the park – wildlife wanders past the tents and the views of the Kapamba River are captivating from all parts of the camp. The main attraction at Kafantu is that each tent has its own private sleepout deck where you can watch the stars all night and listen to the night life!
Day 17
Alas, all good things must come to an end. You will be transferred to Mfuwe Airport for your flight to Lusaka for your onward travel. What a special two weeks that was! So much natural beauty to absorb, so many friendly people to meet. Please come again soon!
